| Things to see and do around Harbour Walk Guest House, Weymouth |
Weymouth is a great resort for all the family, with its safe bathing beach, picturesque harbour and a variety of attractions and events.
Weymouth's popularity as a seaside resort is attributed to King George III who came to bathe in the sea as a health cure for his nervous disorder.
Weymouth beach is superb and consists of sand which sweeps around the bay changing to shingle along the extended promenade. For a more dramatic landscape the Isle of Portland is less than a 10 minute drive away.
The Rodwell Trail, which is a 2 minute walk away, will bring you to Chesil Beach, one of Britain's most remarkable wonders of nature. This shingle bank is about 40ft high in places.

As one would expect of a coastal resort, water sports feature prominently in the list of activities. With excellent wind conditions all year round, the waters of Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour are a magnet for windsurfers and dinghy sailors. International sailing competitions are regularly held in Portland harbour, which is gearing up to host the 2012 Sailing Olympics.
As one of the top angling venues in the country, Weymouth offers all types of fishing, from the child's rod dangled from the pier to deep sea fishing trips which can be booked from one of the charter boats in the harbour.
Weymouth's Brewers Quay with its shops, lots of excellent places to eat and drink and a year-round calendar of events is at the end of our road which makes our area of Weymouth the place to be!
